Jack David Ellinger, 62, of Grottoes, died Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born September 22, 1956 in Augusta County, a son of the late James E. and Mary Ann (Scott) Ellinger. Mr. Ellinger was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Caverns Country Club in Luray as the golf course superintendent and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Family members include two daughters, Alecia Ellinger of South Carolina and Amanda Ellinger of Roanoke; two sisters, Maxine Conner and Sylvia Jean Bradley; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Ellinger and three sisters, Bonnie Liley, Judy Snyder, and Mary Maddox. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019 in Thornrose Cemetery. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
