James E. Burns
James Edward Burns, 81, widower of Joyce Leona Burns, passed away on August 25, 2022 at the Retreat in Fishersville.
James was born on July 21, 1941 to the late William Harry and Madeline Gladys (Cook) Burns.
He worked for Smith Transfer for several years. After their closure, he worked and retired from the Staunton News Leader.
He is survived by his three brothers, Marvin, Homer, and Duke Burns, and some nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Buddy Burns, and a sister, Irene Shiflett.
A private graveside service will be held at Thornrose Cemetery.
Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.
