James R. Grant

James Robert “Jimmy” Grant, 77, died on July 16, 2022 in Staunton.

Mr. Grant was born on December 31, 1944 in Rockbridge County, Virginia to the late Merlin R. and Nellie H. Grant.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Grant Snyder.

Jimmy is survived by a brother, William Grant of Fairfield; a sister, Peggy Grant Vaughan of Raphine; lifetime aunt and friend, Evelyn Johnson of Stuarts Draft. Other survivors include nieces, Becky Shaw, Vicky Snyder, Valerie Vaughan, Gail Bryant and a nephew, Richard Grant.

Jimmy graduated from Rockbridge High School in 1963. Until his illness prohibited him, he worked for most of his adult life in the timber business. He enjoyed fishing and anything related to trucks and cars. Jimmy was a generous and caring person who dedicated much of his life to caring for his parents.

His family will celebrate his life at a graveside service at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 22, 2022 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church.
