Joellen Kessler

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 18th, 2021, at 11:00 am, at the Pleasant View Lutheran Cemetery for the interment of JoEllen Kessler.

JoEllen was born on June 1, 1941, in Staunton, the only child of Evelyn E. and Ambrose B. Kessler. JoEllen passed away on December 7, 2019, in Ocala Florida, at the age of 78.

JoEllen was born and raised in Staunton, attending Jefferson Grammar School and Lee High School graduating in 1959. She attended the College of William & Mary, earning her degree in Education, and began her career as a lifelong educator. JoEllen moved to Fort Myers, Florida in 1967, and was a teacher and administrator for more than 30 years with the Lee County School District. Semi retiring and moving to Ocala, Florida in 2000, she worked in the position of Executive Director of the First United Methodist Church School before fully retiring to care for her Father, Ambrose, and spend more time with family.

Her retired years were happy and she was able to fulfill goals of traveling and on her artwork.

While her final few years were difficult as she dealt with health issues, she was sustained by her faith, and her family. She was proceeded in death by her Mother Evelyn E Kessler, and Ambrose B. Kessler.
