JOHN K. COLBY LEXINGTON, VA John Kingsbury Colby, of Staunton VA, formerly of Tuscon, AZ passed away peacefully on Friday, October 26th. He was born March 17, 1932 in Boston MA and was raised in Andover MA. He attended Phillips Academy, and graduated from Hebron Academy, Brown University with a BA in Archaeology, University of New Hampshire with a BS in Hotel Management, and Boston University with a Masters in Education. Mr. Colby served in the United States Army mapping parts of Alaska. He spent his career in education as a science teacher and school business administrator in the United States and England. His hobbies included volunteer work with Native Americans, archaeological digs throughout the northeast and southwest, hiking both in the United States and Europe, and photography. Mr. Colby was preceded in death by his parents, John Kingsbury and Elizabeth (Hall) Colby. He is survived by two children and their spouses, Drusilla (John) Milford of VA and John (Ann) Colby of WI and seven grandchildren Trey, Benjamin and William Shehan and Maarten, Ashley, Huck, and Riley Colby.
