Judy would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call "home", an assignment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus: a reunion with family and friends who had previously departed, and she has not seen in a long time, including her son, Robert “Robbie” Elliott Neff; mother and father, Phyllis Eileen and Hugo Cecil Duzan; and her brother, Daniel Robson Duzan.
Judy will be remembered for her love of teaching, reading, gardening, and crafting. She adored her grandchildren, and shared her love of reading and gardening with her granddaughter, and shared her love of computers and technology with her grandson. She also greatly enjoyed spending time with her sisters through the wonder of Zoom technology.
Those who knew and loved her want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. She will be remembered for her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family, and friends, and the difference she made in the lives of those who knew her.
Loved ones she leaves behind are:
her daughter, Laurie Ann (Neff) Bame, and spouse, Orville; granddaughter, Heather Bame Terry and spouse, Billy; grandson, Eric M. Bame; sisters, Mary Duzan Hawley and husband, John; and Phyllis Jane Bourne. She also wanted to acknowledge her spouse, (separated) Larry E. Neff; and those who she considered to be her additional children Jenny Hinegardner; Tommy (Tucker) Surratt, and Chuck Neff.
The family would like to express appreciation for support from Hospice of the Shenandoah, allowing her to remain at home with her family as she so desired. The family would also like to thank Henry Funeral Home for handling all arrangements and providing much needed support.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Ride with Pride Therapeutic Horsemanship Program, PO Box 1203 Staunton VA 24402, or any worthy organization for which you are compelled to support.
The family will hold a private remembrance time at a later date.
