FISHERSVILLE, VA… Katherine Merle Ramsey, 93, of Fishersville, and formerly of Dabney’s Road, Raphine, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in Shenandoah Nursing Home. She was born December 22, 1924, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Dabney and Blanner (Hite) Ramsey. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Ramsey was employed by Genesco-L-Grief with 40 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church. Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda “Lark”  and Richard Powell of Staunton; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Martha Ramsey; two sisters, Gladys Ramsey and Louise Ramsey; a grandson, Greg Armstrong and Noelle Karas. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilford Ramsey and Little Douglas Ramsey; and two sisters, Mary Snead and JoAnn Spitler. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018, in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church.  Burial will be private in the Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be nephews, Doug Ramsey, Mark Ramsey, Tony Ramsey, D.C. Ramsey, John Lunsford, Cole Ramsey, and Justin Ramsey. Following the service the family will receive friends in the social hall where everybody is invited for refreshments. The family will also receive friends anytime at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, 102 Kellsye Way, Staunton (540-466-5006). The family is requesting no food or flowers, with memorials being made to Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 8, Steeles Tavern, VA 24476 or to the Church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Shenandoah Nursing Home.
