Kenneth Allen Bright

KENNETH A. BRIGHT STAUNTON, VA Kenneth Allen Bright, 68, widower of JoAnn (Johnson) Bright of 34 East Gay Street, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at his residence. He was born February 10, 1944, in Deerfield a son of the late Harry S. and Sylvia (Bussard) Bright. Prior to retirement, Mr. Bright was employed by Woodrow Wilson Rehab Center with 32 years of service; and was owner/operator of Kenneth A. Bright, General Contracting. He was an avid hunter and a beloved father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry Bright, Jr., John Harman Bright, Jack Bright, and Alfred L. Bright; and two sisters, Dorothy Hodge Long and Mary Ellen Frye. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth A., Jr. and Tammy Terry Bright; a daughter, Cynthia Dawn Bright Shiflett and special friend, Burny Swarthout; seven grandchildren, Josh, Zac, Hunter, Richard, Dylan, Crystal, and Teresa; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Doc Flint, Penny Deavers, and Rick Sizemore. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Claude Williams. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Allen Bright, Jr., David Hodge, C. E. Hodge, Zac Bright, Josh Campbell, Harry Buckland, Doc Flint, and Burny Swarthout. Honorary pallbearers will be family and friends attending the service. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, in the funeral home and other times at the residence.
