Kenneth "Dwayne" Johnson

Kenneth “Dwayne” Johnson, 59, husband of Karen (Simmons) Johnson, of Staunton, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in the University of Virginia Medical Center after fighting congestive heart failure for 14 years.

He was born July 23, 1961 a son of Emma (Johnson) Dean of Stuarts Draft and the late Kenneth Graves.

Dwayne was employed by Penny Plate for 26 ½ years as a mechanic, and then in shipping and receiving. He loved to dance flat foot to his country music, but his greatest love was Sundays spent with family. He never met a stranger and was always joking and laughing.

In addition to his wife, whom he married May 30, 1984, and his mother, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Jacob “Jake” and Megan Johnson; a sister, Revonda Maxwell of Stuarts Draft; a grandson, Conner B. Johnson; a sister-in-law, Brenda Dice; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Graves.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2020 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. William Trice. The family requests casual attire.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

Burial will be private at a later date.
