LARRY D. GRUBB MIDDLEBROOK, VA Larry Dale Grubb, 77, husband of Leatrice "Lea" (Foley) Grubb, of 183 Summerdean Road, died September 5, 2015 in Harkers Island, NC. Born August 30, 1938, in McAlpin, WV, son of Chester David and Emma Ruth (Day) Grubb. A veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from ASR. A member of Salem Lutheran Church, Berryville VFW, and Staunton Elks. Surviving family members include five sons and one daughter; Larry Dale, II, and Terry, Bob and Debbie, Kendall Day and Michelle, Michael Paul and Mandi, Bradford Lee and Emily, Terry and Rick Garber; two brothers, Richard and Barbara, Chester David, II, and Mary; three sisters, Beverly Haley, Sina Woods, and Alesia Moody and son Jaysen; 17 grandchildren, Daniel and wife, Tiffany, Rebecca, Jonathan, Emma, Hannah, Hunter, Kelsie, Skylar, Mason, Tzariah, Kelijah, and Maeleeannah Grubb, Shayna and Katlyn Garber, Amanda Young, Jared and Krissy Colvin; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Jonah; his first wife, Betty Jean, his family at Buck Mountain Hunt Club, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Lil' Bill. Larry "PawPaw" loved the outdoors, hunting on the mountain or fishing on the coast. He was able to "fix" anything or kept it. He was respected by many for his mechanical abilities and life knowledge. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015, Oak Lawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Henry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Virginia Transplant Center, 7300 Beaufont Springs Drive, Richmond, VA 23225.
