LARUE F. WILSON   STAUNTON, VA… LaRue Fauber Wilson, 87, passed away December 29, 2016, in UVA Medical Center.  She was born on April 16, 1929 in Montebello, VA and was the daughter of Hercy Franklin and Lottie Campbell Fauber. LaRue married James Moore Wilson Jr. in 1952, who preceded her in death in 2008.  She was also preceded by three sisters; Agnes, Myrtle, and Novella, a brother Harry, and granddaughter Heather.  Surviving are three sons; Glenn (Penny) Wilson of Raphine, Mike (Janet) Wilson of Raphine and Jerry Wilson of Rockbridge Baths.  She also has five daughters; Faith (James) Forkovitch of Mt Crawford, Denise (Calvin) Ingram of Craigsville, Linda (David) Murray of Harrisburg, NC, Laura (Tony) Mancari of Bridgewater, and Lisa Wilson of Woodstock.  LaRue has 15 surviving grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. LaRue was a gifted musician and started playing her guitar on the radio at 12 years of age.  She was accomplished in playing many stringed instruments, and old time bluegrass was her life-long love.   She played with a number of well known artists, her own band, and in numerous festivals.  LaRue was also an avid quilter, crafter, dancer, gardener, and homemaker.  She was a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed. A memorial service is planned at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steeles Tavern on January 2, at 11:30 am.   Visitation will follow.  At the family's request burial will be private.
