LENWOOD F. SIMMONS, SR. FISHERSVILLE, VA Lenwood Franklin "Frank" Simmons, Sr., 59, husband of Linda Faye Simmons, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born April 9, 1954, in Staunton, a son of the late Lester Boone and Lula Mae Simmons. Mr. Simmons served in the Unites States Marine Corps. He was a beloved husband, father, and "paw paw". He enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren, who will never forget him. In addition to his wife, Linda Faye Simmons, members of his family include his mother-in-law, Lucille Eckard; four children, Lenwood Franklin Simmons, Jr., Marian Lynn Simmons, Melissa Renee Gibson and her husband, Jamie, and Kevin Dwight Simmons; four brothers, Lester D. Simmons, Lonnie E. Simmons, James E. Simmons, and Jesse J. Robertson; three sisters, Aven C. Brown, Linda A. Waybright, and Nancy M. Simmons; six grandchildren, Anna Martina Marie Simmons, Noah Franklin Simmons, Morgan Courtney Simmons, McKensley Raegan Gibson, Allyson Elizabeth Simmons, and Grace Anne Jones; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ellen Truslow and a niece, Tina Marie Truslow. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Tex Ramsey. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be his brothers and Aaron Herring, David Truslow, and Lee Cornelison. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, August 12, 2013, at the funeral home.
