LEO A. WHEELER GREENVILLE, VA Leo Alvin Wheeler, 81, husband of Betty Campbell Wheeler, of 3788 Lee Jackson Highway, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his residence. He was born November 11, 1932, in Montebello, a son of the late John Will and Margaret (Campbell) Wheeler. Mr. Wheeler was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Leo loved his family, bluegrass music, NASCAR, attending baseball and football games, and working outdoors. He was also a member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his daughter, Jacklyn Wheeler Higgs and husband, James; granddaughters, Leslie Cason and Ashley Austin and husband, Nate; great grandchildren, Cody, Jesse, Christian, Joel, Ava, Tyler, and Maddie; four sisters, Loretta Falls, Lucille Gilbert, Laura Mohler, of Buena Vista, and Lois Wilmore of Glasgow; two brothers, Lester Wheeler and Leroy Wheeler both of Buena Vista; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Wheeler and a brother, Larry Wheeler. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Billy Coffey. Burial will follow in Mt. Paran Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Roy Mohler, Jeremy Nuckols, Jon Wheeler, Larry Wheeler, Jay Suthers, and Jody Nuckols. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2014, in the funeral home and other times at the residence.
