STAUNTON, VA Lianne (Blackwell) Castle, 53, wife of David Castle of 1500 North Coalter Street, died Sunday, July 5, 2015, in Augusta Health following a courageous and determined battle with cancer, defying medical odds throughout the fight. She was born June 17, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland a daughter of the late Clarence L. Blackwell and Betty (Tolley) McClain. Mrs. Castle was previously employed as a nurse at Western State Hospital until April of 2008. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, family members include a daughter, Laura Michelle Jolly of Churchville; a step-son, David Hunter Castle III; a step-daughter, Paricia Dianne Castle of Verona; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Ronnie Seal and Tina and Frankie Mawyer, all of Crimora; a brother and sister-in-law, Glen A. and Linda Blackwell of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Jacob, Alaina, Annaleigh "Gracie", all of Churchville, and Savannah; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sheryl Gregory of Churchville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Arnold Blackwell. A Celebration of Lianne's Life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Russell Heinrich. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015, in Henry Funeral Home. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the ICU staff of Augusta Health for the exceptional care given to Lianne in her final hours.
