LILLIAN T. WHITE STAUNTON, VA… Lillian (Tolley) Mynes  White, daughter of the late W. Austin Tolley and Ada McCray Tolley, received her wings and entered into eternal peace on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Brookdale Assisted Living. Lillian was born July 28, 1919 in Newport, VA. She was a graduate of Schuford College in Richmond, VA. She was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and a previous member of Second Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and was active with Presbyterian Women and Youth Programs. She was a long time resident of Brookdale Assisted Living in Staunton and participated in all the activities including sewing bears for children in crises situations and crocheting baby caps and blankets for the Newborn babies at UVA hospital. She leaves to cherish her memory, three devoted daughters, Barbara Rutherford (Bobby) of Fishersville, Linda Lickliter (Howard) of Staunton, and Nancy Keeton (Henry); granddaughters, Ashley Lickliter and Tammy Powell (Rick) of Verona; great grandchildren, Meganne Manson (Ty) of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Zachary Powell (Megan) of Grottoes; great, great grandchildren, Luke and Abigail Manson and Kyden Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Ethel Tolley Evers and Louise Tolley Cupp; and her brothers, Preston Tolley, William Austin Tolley, and Harold Tolley. A special thanks to the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living for all the love and care you’ve shown over the years and in her last few weeks. She leaves behind her dear friend at Brookdale, Mabel Phillips, whom she loved as a best friend, and the hospice nurses and aides that provided the wonderful care she needed. A special thanks to Karne Bourne who visited and helped coordinate hospice care. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2017, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Pastor Evan Smith, Pastor Earl Monroe and Pastor Kathy Puffenbarger. Burial will be private in Thornrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
