LILLIAN M. YEAGO STAUNTON, VA… Lillian Eleanor (Meek) Yeago, 84, widow of Robert S. Yeago, Jr., of Staunton, died at home early on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. She was born December 25, 1931, in Burke’s Garden, daughter of the late Alexander Long and Roberta (Thompson) Meek. Mrs. Yeago taught for many years in the Staunton City Schools. She was a member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by five brothers. Surviving are a son, David S. Yeago of Ambridge, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Ann Yeago Miller and her husband, Heth, of Montpelier; and two granddaughters, Eleanor Miller and Katharine Yeago. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. JoAnn Bunn. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016, in the Henry Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be given to Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, the R. S. Yeago, Jr. Scholarship at Riverheads High School (through the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge), or Hospice of the Shenandoah.
