LINDA A. HEVENER STAUNTON, VA Linda Anne (Feathers) Hevener, 70, wife of Charles "Jake" Hevener, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at King's Daughters' Community Health and Rehab Center. She was born on January 30, 1943, in Bristol, a daughter of the late Dale Feathers and Willie (Holt) Barker. Mrs. Hevener retired from Virginia Department of Corrections. She was a member of Laurel Hill Full Gospel Church and loved flower gardening, but most of all her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband of more than 40 years, family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Harvey Eckard of Craigsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Linda Lindamood of Charleston, SC; four step children, Teresa Hevener of Columbia, SC, Daniel Hevener of Staunton, Timothy Hevener of Stuarts Draft, and Vivian Salwen and her husband, Barry, of Raleigh, NC; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Lynne Barker and Billy and Doris Feathers; five grandchildren, Shannon Mines, Joseph Manders, Justin Eckard, Aubree Kuriger, and Weston Lindamood; and four great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. William Strickler. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013 at Henry Funeral Home.
