LOIS S. SENSABAUGH STAUNTON, VA...Lois Frances (Shultz) Sensabaugh, 88, widow of Kenneth Edward Sensabaugh, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at her residence. She was born May 6, 1928, in Staunton, a daughter of the late J. Leonard and Nelle (Glover) Shultz and graduated from Middlebrook High School in 1945. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Mary Baldwin College as Director of the Child Psychology Department for 20 years, and Staunton City Schools as a substitute teacher, and associate with Welcome Wagon of Staunton. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where she taught Bible School, Sunday School, and was a member of the choir. As a member of the Staunton Chorale Society and Thursday Morning Music Club, her talent was enjoyed by all. Family members include a son, Stephen W. Sensabaugh of Gerrardstown, WV; a daughter, Sharon Goodrow and husband, George, of Little River, SC; two grandsons, Chris and Kevin Goodrow; two great grandchildren; and nine nieces and nephews. “Mom” was best known as an inspiration to those with an ear for music. Her gifts of playing the piano were perhaps unmatched in the Shenandoah Valley. Her legacy will live on as we play and sing as she inspired us to do. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, in the Henry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah, c/o Augusta Health Foundation, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939 or Grace Christian School, 511 Thornrose Ave., Staunton, VA 24401.
