LORETTA M. BOTELER Fishersville, Va On March 11, 2018, Loretta May Boteler, 78, passed into Heaven to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She died at home with her two adult children, Paul and Susan, by her side. Mrs. Boteler was a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother and grandmother, who loved with open arms and was loved by her family and friends. Mrs Boteler was born on November 12, 1939 in Los Angeles, California. She attended the California Hospital School of Nursing in Los Angeles, graduating with a Registered Nurse diploma in 1960. Mrs. Boteler worked as an RN in various capacities in hospitals and doctors offices throughout her life. However, the “job” she loved and treasured most was being a mom and grandmother. Mrs. Boteler was creative and enjoyed art, sewing, quilting, and any craft involving paper. She was an avid gardener, tending her home gardens with great attention and care, and she loved to cook and bake for her family. Mrs. Boteler was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro, VA, and was an active part of their quilting ministry. Mrs. Boteler was preceded in death by her father, Austin H. Peltier, an infant daughter, Lynne Marie Erickson, and her husband of 23 years, Jack E. Boteler. Mrs. Boteler is survived by her mother, Myrtle L. (Robarge) Peltier, of Asheville, NC; her brother, Robert L. Peltier (Angela), of Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, México; her first husband Robert O. Erickson, of Locust Grove, VA, father of her two surviving adult children: son, Paul R. Erickson (Neuma), of Porto Seguro, Brazil, and daughter, Susan M. (Erickson) Colletti (Andrew), of Springfield, Va. She is also survived by six grandchildren whom she dearly loved: Kalynn, Johann, Arianna, Ethann, Charlotte, and Samuel; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins. The family will receive friends in the seminar room of Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church Waynesboro, VA from 6:30pm-7:30pm on Friday March 23, 2018. A service of celebration will be held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 500 South Wayne, Ave., Waynesboro, VA on March 24, 2018 beginning at 1:30pm with committal in the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Columbarium. Reception to follow in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Mission Endowment Fund of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church 500 South Wayne Ave., Waynesboro, VA 22980 (indicate “Grace Fund Boteler Memorial” in memo line). This fund is a tax deductible, invested fund that supports God’s mission locally, nationally, and around the world.
