LOTTIE F. YOWELL GREENVILLE, VA Lottie Frances (Wood) Yowell, 88, widow of Edwin Lee Yowell of Greenville, died Monday (December 29, 2014) at Emeritus, Staunton surrounded by her family. She was born December 8, 1926 in Earlysville, a daughter of Lizzie (Wyant) Wood of Fishersville and the late Reuben Lester Wood. Mrs. Yowell had been an LPN and had retired from General Electric in Waynesboro. She was a former member of Old Providence Presbyterian Church, the Spottswood Ruritan Club, the Home Demonstration Club, and the TOPS Club. Lottie was also very involved in raising and showing AKC Registered Pekingese dogs for many years. Lottie was a loving mother and grandmother. Her life was centered on her family and living as a farmer's wife. In addition to her mother, family members include three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda (Yowell) Shuey and husband Ronald E. Shuey of Charlottesville, Judy (Yowell) Jackson and husband John N. Jackson, Jr. of Staunton, and Debra (Debbie) Yowell of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, Elwood (Woody) L. Yowell and his wife Patricia (Morgan) Yowell of Greenville; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Wallace and Lee Wood of Baltimore, MD, Hiram and Nancy Wood of Hudgins, VA, Curtis Wood of Spanaway, WA, Boyd Wood and Jane Law of Middlebrook, Maynard Wood and Terry Carpenter of Fishersville; three sisters and brother-in-law, Thelma Bryant of Waynesboro, Gracie and Martin (Buddy) Truslow of Waynesboro, Betty Tomlin of Monroe, VA; a sister-in-law Dorothy (Yowell) Burgess and husband Marvin Burgess of Columbia, SC, eight grandchildren, Wendy Shuey of Taos, NM, Samuel Shuey of Charlottesville, Michelle McDaniel and husband Brian of Staunton, Christopher Jackson, of Staunton, Eric Yowell and wife, Bevin of Staunton, Lucas (Luke) Yowell and wife Sherri, of Greenville, Tonya Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft, Laura Fitzgerald and Jessica Louk of Greenville; eight great grandchildren, McKenzie and Maddie Yowell, Joslyn, Braeden, and Brielle McDaniel, Jake and Haven Yowell, and Zoe Shuey; also a number of cousins, great nieces and nephews and many friends especially one of many years, J.D. Towler of Blairs, VA. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2015 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Russell Heinrich. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Samuel Shuey, Eric Yowell, Lucas Yowell, Christopher Jackson, Brian McDaniel, Boyd Wood, and Maynard Wood. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah, P.O. Box 215, Fishersville, VA 22939.
