LOUISE R. SWATS STAUNTON, VA Louise Larue (Rodgers) Swats, 88, wife of Calvin Lee Swats, of Staunton, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at King's Daughters' Community Health and Rehab Center. She was born December 25, 1925, in Staunton, a daughter of the late John and Mildred (Kesterson) Rodgers. Mrs. Swats graduated from Beverley Manor High School. Louise worked at Smiths Transfer and Overnight Transfer before retiring to Hague, VA where they enjoyed the river life very much along with gardening and flowers. After moving to Waynesboro, she attended Main Street United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband of 68 years, whom she married November 1945, family members include sons, Donald Lee Swats and wife, Donna, of Murrells Inlet, SC, Gary W. Swats and wife, Helen, of Churchville; grandchildren, Jason N. Swats of Staunton, M. Casey Swats (Carrie) of Swoope, Martha Swats-Devitch (Sean) of New Hampshire, and Maggie Marand of Richmond; great grandchildren, Kaylee Swats, Chelsea Marand, Eliza Swats, and Stella Swats; a sister, Dorothy Farrish; nephews, John Farrish (Ann), Steve Farrish (Dreama), and David Farrish; a close niece, Jane Harris; and nieces, Ann Lewis (Edward), Mary Farrish, Kathleen Bishop, and Judy Dinges. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014, in Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. Neil Hough. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014, in the Henry Funeral Home.
