LOUISE H. TALLEY  HARRISONBURG, VA… Louise, widow of the late Edwin Harvey Talley, Jr., passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 at Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg. She was born July 2, 1915, in Gretna, the daughter of the late Charles Ellison and Emma Jane (Mayhew) Hodnett.  Louise attended Smithdeal Massey Business College in Richmond, Virginia and worked for Reynolds Metal Company of Richmond. She and her husband lived most of their earlier years in Hanover County and upon his retirement from the Medical College of Virginia moved to Staunton. Both were members of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Staunton. In 1986 their dream was realized when they became residents of Sunnyside Retirement Community. Surviving Louise is a daughter, Jeanette T. Kelly and a son, Edwin H. Talley III and wife, Melinda of Smith Mountain Lake, Moneta; two grandchildren, Shannon K. Brown and husband, Derrick, and Michael Brian Kelly and his wife, Lisa; five great grandchildren. There is one surviving sister, Alma Jenkins; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin H. Talley, Jr.; two brothers, James Aylor Hodnett and Charles E. Hodnett, Jr.; and sisters, Lillian White, Ethel Darden, Olive Griffin, and Marian Goyne. A private graveside service will be held in Thornrose Cemetery.                           Memorials may be made to Sunnyside Fellowship Fund, 3935 Sunnyside Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22801 or to Legacy Hospice, 1842 Jefferson Highway, Fishersville, VA 22939.
