Lucille (Arehart) Humphreys, 89, widow of Oscar Moton Humphreys, Jr., of Staunton, died Thursday, November 8, 2018, at her residence. She was born September 1, 1929, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Oscar Lightner and Josephine Ann (Troxell) Arehart. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Humphreys was a Clerk with American Safety Razor. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and the We Care Committee. Family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Franklin Taylor and Victoria (Valz) Humphreys of Virginia Beach and Joseph Scott and Betsy (Hewitt) Humphreys of Blacksburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Judith (Humphreys) and Edward Lynn Ebron of Staunton; eight grandchildren, William Dean Harlow, Jr. and his wife, Selena Harlow, Jessica Renee Harlow, Meredith Lee Humphreys, Jesse and Ashley Wilkinson, Jason Wilkinson, Charles Taylor Humphreys, and Champ Hewitt Humphreys; and five great grandchildren, Saera Elizabeth Harlow, Christian Dean Harlow, Caleb Marcel Brown, Tavian Cordel Brown, Jybraun Lattrel Brown, and D’Mari Harlow; four great great grandchildren, Jaxson Harlow, Peyton Harlow, Greyson Harlow and Gabriel Brown;  two sisters, Virginia Smiley and Doreen Arehart; two sisters-in-law, Beverley Arehart and Linda Arehart; and special friends, Gloria Sams and Glenna Jones. In addition to her husband and her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace, Eddie, and Wayne Arehart; and two sisters, Linda Marie Arehart and Lorraine Arehart. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Novemeber 13, 2018 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church by the Rev. Norman L. Ramsey.  Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Champ Humphreys, Charlie Humphreys, Dean Harlow, Tavian Brown, Jybraun Brown, and Caleb Brown.  Honorary pallbearers will be Francis Arehart, Carey Baker Arehart, Corky Smith, Edward Ebron, and Members of the We Care Committee. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Capital Improvement Fund, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 2000 Shutterlee Mill Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
