LUCILLE B. MOSES STAUNTON, VA… Lucille Virginia (Buchanan) Moses, 95, widow of Willie Franklin Moses, Jr., of 434 Betsy Bell Road, died Monday, September 12, 2016. She was born August 10, 1921 in Lofton,  a daughter of the late William E. and Pearlie (Rowe) Buchanan. Before retiring, Mrs. Moses was employed by Sears with 10 years of service prior to her marriage. She was an active member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church having served in various positions. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of Steeles Tavern VFW and the Home Demonstration Club. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Buchanan, Guy Lavare Buchanan, and Melvin Ford Buchanan.Family members include a daughter, Lisa (Moses) Hope of Staunton; five nieces, Linda Lam, Treva Rexrode, Sharon Fitzgerald, Sue Moore, and Joyce Humphreys; and nephew, Bennie Buchanan.  She was the last of her immediate family. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2016  in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Olivia Haney.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
