Lucille Bertha Sprouse

LUCILLE S. SPROUSE Lucille Bertha (Shover) Sprouse, 90, widow of Cecil Odell Sprouse, of 36 Oakmont Drive, Staunton, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in King's Daughters' Community Health and Rehab Center. She was born March 2, 1922, in Middlebrook, a daughter of the late Oscar S. and Millie (Dull) Shover. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Sprouse was employed by Tommy's Pajama Factory. She was a life member of St. John's Reformed United Church of Christ. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank W. Shover; and a sister, Dorothy S. Henkel. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Fred W. and Sandra S. Sprouse of Staunton; a grandson and his wife, Benjamin J. and Sarah D. Sprouse and a granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer S. and Michael D. Wade; four great grandchildren, Kayleigh A. Sprouse, Nathanael J. Sprouse, Lauryn V. Wade, and Carmen A. Wade; three nephews, Donald Galvin, Edwin Galvin, and Philip Galvin; and two nieces, Ann Schultz and Julia Greer. There will be a private graveside service conducted by the Rev. Temple D. Myers. There will be no public viewing or visitation. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
