Luella Chittum Shuey

Luella (Chittum) Shuey, 85, widow of Lewis “Jim” William Shuey, of Fishersville, was called home on Monday, October 15, 2018, at Augusta Health.                 She was born June 1, 1933, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Lacy and Gracie (Cash) Chittum.                 She was a member of Fishersville Baptist Church.                 Luella was a farmer’s wife, who loved the outdoors, gardening, and flowers. She loved spending time with her family. She loved her church family and her Lord Jesus Christ. The family has lost their greatest prayer warrior.                 In addition to her husband of 68 years, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Barbara Arehart and Judy Cross; and four sisters, Elizabeth Crickenberger, Pauline Chandler, Beulah Cash, and Connie Ryder.                 Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher Dennis and Debra Shuey of Forest; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Myers of Staunton; two brothers, Jerry and Marshall Chittum; a sister, Alice Huffman; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Larissa Estes, Vickie and John Craft, Darren and Cassie Estes, Kent and Staci Keller, Jonathan and Melissa Keller, Amber and Jeff Hartzog, and Brynne and Scott Morrison; ten great grandchildren, Laura Craft, Trent and Tye Estes, Breigh Estes, Maddyn and Camden Hartzog, Dylan Morrison, Olivia Keller, Caleb and Noah Keller; a special “grandson”, Blake Campbell; and special friends, Virginia Smith, Joyce Ralston, and Dorothy Fox.                 A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2018, in Fishersville Baptist Church by the Rev. John Craft. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.                 Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.                 Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.                 The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Henry Funeral Home.                 Memorials may be made to Fishersville Baptist Church, P.O.
