Lula Deanna "Dee" Ryan

STAUNTON, VA… Lula Deanna “Dee” Humphreys Ryan, 69, of Staunton, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Augusta Health. She was born April 7, 1947 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Goldie Marie (Carroll) Ryan. She cared for people with special needs, prior to retirement, from the Valley Community Services Board.        She drove a school bus for Rockbridge, Augusta, and Rockingham Counties. She loved dancing, car racing, and wrestling.Family members include four children, Trish Humphreys Drumheller, Junior Humphreys, Sandy Humphreys Flick, and Kenny “Booter” Humphreys; seven grandchildren, Kristina, Teresa, Leanne, Sarah, Traci, Aaron, and Kayla; three great grandchildren, Dean, Kayleigh, and Alayla; three brothers, Larry Ryan, Rodney Reynolds and Robert Ryan; a sister Wanda Helmick; and  special friends, David Nisonger, Belle Crummett, and John and Donna Robinson. She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Melvin Humphreys, Sr.; a brother, Donald Ryan; and a sister, Geraldine “Peggy” Serrett. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Golden C. Clark, Jr.  Burial will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Morning Star Church Cemetery, 282 Morning Star Road, Mt. Jackson. Active pallbearers will be Kenny “Booter” Humphreys, Junior Humphreys, Aaron Flick, Steve Flick, Robert Ryan, and Chris Drumheller. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Tuesday, July 5, 2016, in the funeral home.
