LUSINA M. SHIFLET  STAUNTON, VA… Lusina M. Ervine Shiflet, 98, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Legacy at North Augusta in Staunton, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight L. and Ollie Virginia Marshall; husbands, Harmon S. Ervine and the Reverend Harold D. Shiflet; and a sister, Virginia Eckes. Mrs. Shiflet was born at McClung in Bath County, Virginia on July 28, 1919. She attended Shenandoah College and graduated from Madison College (JMU). She was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught in Bath County, Augusta County, and for over 20 years in Staunton. She loved music, was proficient in both piano and organ, played for several churches during her life, loved to sing and was a member of the Happy Notes for several years. She was a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church, and after her marriage to Rev. Harold Shiflet was an active partner with him as he continued his ministry. She was active in Union Presbyterian Church and was awarded an honorary life membership in the Presbyterian Women of the Shenandoah and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). She is survived by a daughter, Beverley Ervine and husband Boyce Lancaster; a son, Marshall Ervine; a step daughter, Linda Pillow; and a step son, Hobart Shiflet and wife Donna; six step grandchildren, Michael Shiflet and wife Colleen Sharkey, Melody Shiflet, Amanda Scarcella and husband Anthony, Alana Ohana and husband Guy, Elizabeth Jackson, and Austin (Tex) Pillow; and four step great grandchildren, Jarrett Ohana, January Ohana, Jackson Scarcella, and Ryan Scarcella; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Union Presbyterian Church by Pastor Judy Hensley. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Woodland Cemetery in Bath County conducted by Pastor David George.    The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2018 in the Henry Funeral Home.
