Gordon Stokes, 75, widower of Wilda Jean Stokes died on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Augusta Health.

He was born on May 12, 1945 in Augusta County to the late Joe and Betty Stokes.

He retired as a loader operator with Transit Mixed Concrete with 42 years of service.

Surviving family members include two daughters, Teresa Sprouse and husband, John and Tammy May and husband, Chuck; three brothers, Charles, Jasper and Roger Stokes; two sisters, Julia and Hazel Stokes; nine grandchildren, Brittani Clark, Stephanie Dunker, Jadynn Lambert, Joey Lambert, Felicia Lambert, Andrew May, Kaleb May, Holly Sprouse and Megan Weaver; and ten great grandchildren, Jordyn Alexander, Brinsley Clark, Yuri Hicks, Kinnon May, Maddock May, Reid May, Jackson McDaniel, Ethan Reed, Breagan Weaver and Remy Weaver.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. with the service to follow on Thursday, January 14, 2021 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Russell Heinrich. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Brent Weaver, Elwood Bruce, Joey Lambert, Kaleb May, Stevie Clark, and John Lindeman.
