Linda L. Mynes

Linda Lou (Kelley) Mynes, 77, widow of Thomas Wilmer Mynes, of Staunton, died Sunday, June 6, 2021 at Augusta Health.

She was born April 17, 1944 in Bath County, a daughter of the late Carl Hugh, Sr., and Mary Esther (Ryder) Kelley.

Prior to retirement, she was employed for 25 years as a CNA.

Linda was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of Staunton VFW Post 2216.

Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Leroy, Jr., and Rhonda G. Stephenson; two daughters, Sandra L. Stephenson and Mary D. Caruso; Michael Stephenson’s fiancé, Julie Burns; a brother, Carl Hugh Kelley, Jr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris Jean (Kelley) and Carrol Zirkle; seven grandchildren, Brian Welcher (Ruth), Angie Brummitt (Brandon), Clarissa Fix (Jeffrey), Chris Stephenson (Candace), Cody Stephenson, Marky Ervin (Ashley), and Jennifer Sprouse (Gary); and 17 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Michael Stephenson and Troy Stephenson; a brother, Ray Clinton Kelley; and a sister Deborah Ann (Kelley) Amos.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Calvary Baptist Church by Pastor Bobby Campbell. Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park.

The family would like everyone to dress casually in a tropical theme (khakis and Hawaiian shirts) since she has gone to paradise.

Active pallbearers will be Leroy Stephenson, Chris Stephenson, Cody Stephenson, Brian Welcher, Stacy Gilbert, and Ronnie Amos.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 in the Henry Funeral Home.
