    MABLE BELL MILLER

    August 19, 1923 - April 15, 2013

    MABLE G. MILLER STAUNTON, VA Mable Bell (Gilmer) Miller, 89, of 2003 Third Street, left this earth to be with our Lord in Heaven, surrounded by her family on Monday, April 15, 2013, at King's Daughters' Nursing and Rehab Center. She was a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church. She liked to be called "Granny" and will be sadly missed. She loved the Lord, her church, family, helping people, cooking, and having yard sales. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Anna Miller of Churchville; two sisters, Frances Gordon of Fort Defiance and Betty Piner of Waynesboro; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, George and Shirley Gilmer, Junior and Cathlene Gilmer, all of Staunton, John Gilmer of Middlebrook, and Warren and Barbara Gilmer of Waynesboro; a special daughter-in-law, Carolyn Miller of Staunton; a son-in-law, Don Vey, of Staunton; two grandchildren, Teresa Jones and Stephen Miller, both of Myrtle Beach, SC; great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two children, Mildred Vey and Fred Miller; and two sisters, Helen Gilmer and Louise Harlow. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert W. Sharp. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be George and Warren Gilmer, Keith and Eric Piner, Harry Harris, and Richard Powell. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church, 1614 West Beverley Street, Staunton, VA 24401. The family would like to express a special thank you to Teresa Jones and Carolyn Miller for their special care. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
