MACK W. BROOKS, SR. STUARTS DRAFT, VA Mack William Brooks, Sr., 81, husband of Grace (Henderson) Brooks of 1851 White Hill Road, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born October 24, 1930 in Raphine, a son of the late McKinley and Mamie (Cash) Brooks. Mr. Brooks was a veteran of the U. S. Army 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Augusta Co-Op and Craig Munn. He was a faithful member of both the Stuarts Draft Volunteer Fire Company and the Stuarts Draft Mennonite Church. Mack had a love for his family and most of all his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has been serving as church trustee and had recently recommitted his life to the Lord. In addition to his wife, family members include a son, Mack W. Brooks, Jr.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Deborah Jean Brooks and Debra and Jack Wade; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ellen Ralston of Verona, Mary "Mike" and Bill Cupp of New Hope, and Phyllis and Tom Nicely of Verona; and a granddaughter, Angela Batton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hale Brooks and Kennan Brooks; five sisters, Margaret Decker, Edna Caricofe, Katherine Berry, Vivian Puckett, and Martha Conner; a daughter-in-law, Pam Brooks; and a grandson, Nathan Sensabaugh, II. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 on Sunday (May 27, 2012) at Stuarts Draft Mennonite Church by the Pastor Brett Perrett. Burial will be private. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
