Macon Alexander "Mac" Moyer I

MACON A. MOYER I   STAUNTON, VA… Macon Alexander “Mac” Moyer, I, 80, husband of Kay (McCarthy) Moyer, of Staunton, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at his residence. He was born January 10, 1937 in Page County, a son of the late Edward and Dimple Elizabeth (Sutton) Moyer. A loving husband and father, Mac was an avid sports fan.  He retired from Staunton City Schools as a bus driver after nearly 20 years.  He worked in retail in the early years of his life. In addition to his wife, whom he wed July 3, 1965, family members include three children and their spouses, Melissa and Harry Dice, Macon, II, and Janis Moyer, and Matthew and Tara Moyer; 11 grandchildren, Justin and Jennifer Rusmisel, Courtney and Alex Adkins, Katie and Thomas Gideos, Macon “Alex” Moyer, III, Allen Dice and Scott Dice, and Madison and Mackenzie Moyer; two great grandchildren, Cain Camden and Jackson Rusmisel; five brothers and their spouses, Charles and Pat Moyer, Sidney and Jean Moyer, Joseph and Kay Moyer, Larry and Sally Moyer, and Roger and Barbara Moyer; five sisters and their spouses, Janet Morris, Barbara and Jim Miller, Judy and Bill Wheelbarger, Nancy and Mac Coffman, and Hope and Dwight Burner; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Kenneth “Steve”, Fred, David, Ray, and William “Bill” Moyer. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home.
