Marc Anthony Houle

Marc Anthony Houle, age 55 died Sunday, July 29, 2018 of natural causes in his home located in Charlotte, NC. Born in New Hampshire, he was the beloved son of Harold H. Houle and Jaqueline G. Houle. Marc was raised with his three siblings in his favorite state of Virginia where he graduated from Wilson Memorial High School (Class of '80). After college he came to Charlotte, NC where he has resided for over three decades. Marc was a proud graduate of Virginia Tech (Class of '84) where he earned his Civil Engineering Degree. While employed with his first position at the City of Charlotte, he also achieved his MBA from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Soon after, Marc entered the private sector where he received his Professional Engineering License along with his Professional Land Survey License. Through years of dedication and hard work he became the owner of Yarbrough-Williams & Houle, Inc. He took great pride in participating in a business based on family type relationships with a true dedication to his people. He also pursued and accomplished several black belts in various disciplines and enjoyed scuba diving, Harleys, fly fishing, was a gun enthusiast and an avid sports fan. His most generous nature was also shown is his multiple philanthropic endeavors which remained a priority throughout his life. Marc is survived by his two most treasured sons, Zachary Nichols Houle and Tyler Anthony Houle, their mother, Alice Houle-Evans. He is preceded by his parents Harold H. Houle, Jaqueline G. Houle, his adored siblings and their families including sister, Deborah Barnette, her husband, Dudley Barnette and their daughter, Sarah Barnette; his brother, Robert Houle, his wife, Benedicte Thibierge and their two sons, Alex and Loic and his brother Bruce Houle, his wife, Gloria Houle, their son and daughter, Morgan and Jacob.   Gone and never forgotten. To say Marc will be missed by many is the grossest of understatements. His illuminating "live life to the fullest" spirit will live on in all of us whenever we encounter his true love; the color, Yellow ...and hear his favorite two words, Go Bears! The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel 10500 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 1 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church 8015 Ballantyne Commons Pkwy. Charlotte, NC 28277. A funeral service will also be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Noon at Henry Funeral Home 1030 W. Beverly St. Staunton, VA 24401. Interment will follow at Thornrose Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Charlotte Rescue Mission.
