Margaret Elizabeth (Johnson) Christ

STAUNTON, VA…               Margaret Elizabeth (Johnson) Christ, 83, widow of James Christ, of Staunton, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015.   She was born March 12, 1932, in Staunton, VA, a daughter of the late John Joseph and Rose (Collins) Johnson.   Family members include three sons, John E. Christ and wife, Keli, Stephen B. Christ and life partner, Celio Martinez, and William J. Christ; a daughter, Catherine C. Christ and fiancé, Travis Smith; a brother, Joe Johnson and wife, Beverly; a sister, Marie Piper and husband, Leland; two grandsons, Thomas Conner and Michael Christ; a cousin, Mary Collins Manning; and numerous nieces and nephews.               In addition to her husband, James Christ, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Christ; an infant son, David Christ; and her sister, Roslie Dustin.               A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church by Father Joseph Wamala.             A private family burial will follow at Thornrose Cemetery.        A gathering of family and friends are invited to the St. Francis Social Hall for fellowship and food following the Mass.   Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
