MARGARET J. LEE STAUNTON, VA… Margaret Louise (Jones) Lee, 85, of Staunton, passed away peacefully Monday, March 13, 2017 at her residence. She was born May 18, 1931, in Staunton, a daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Carter) Jones. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1947.  She also attended Hampton College in the late 1940’s. Until she recently took ill to continue, Margaret was an active student at Mary Baldwin University pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. She was a member of Augusta Street United Methodist Church where she was bookkeeper, treasurer, and worship leader and was also a member of the United Methodist Women.  Margaret owned and operated Jon-Lee Enterprises, providing bookkeeping, tax preparation, and travel arrangement services to the community for over 35 years. She was preceded death by her husband of 54 years, Justice S. Lee, and an infant daughter, Carter Jo Lee. Family members include a sister, Mary E. Tate, who is the last surviving member of the family; three children, Ashyliend Diane Cubbage and husband, Charles, William E. Lee, and wife Nadine, and Linda Lee Williams; grandchildren, Damon D. Lee, and wife, Katie, C. Adrian Cubbage and wife, Shelly and Anitria Bellamy, Jessica R. Williams, Jeremy L. Williams, and Alexis D. Jackson; great grandchildren, Justice M. Lee, Skylar C. Lee, Bianca S. Cubbage, Dewan, Shamall, and Ryann Bellamy; and numerous other family members and close friends. A home going service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2017 at Henry Funeral Home by the Rev. John Benson.  Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Damon Lee, Adrian Cubbage, Jeremy Williams, Joel Parker, William Veney, DJ Tate, Justin Tate, and Jemal Breckenridge. The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 p.m. Monday in the Henry Funeral Home and other times at her residence, 913 Springhill Road, Staunton.
