MARILYN M. ATKINS FISHERSVILLE, VA Marilyn Marie "Sue" (Blystone) Atkins, 74, of 712 Randolph Street, Staunton, widow of Norman Atkins, went to her heavenly reward on Friday, January 18, 2013 in Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born April 18, 1938, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Frank and Sylvia Blystone of Apollo, Pennsylvania. Prior to retirement, she was employed by DeJarnette's and Western State Hospital. She was a member of Staunton Church of Christ. Family members include one sister, Betty and her husband Joe Bosch of Pennsylvania; one brother John Paul and wife Sherry Blystone; a sister-in-law Agnes Blystone, all of Apollo, Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Nancy DePriest and care giver of the home. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Blystone and her two loving cats, Sandy and Sammy. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Staunton Church of Christ by Pastor Barry Creasy and Rich Anderson and the burial will follow at Thornrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Active pallbearers will be Mike Wood, Andy Thompson, Ron Johnson, Brandon Harvey, Bruce Wade, Eddie Guertler, and Mike Guertler. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Staunton Church of Christ, 333 Churchville Avenue, Staunton. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
