MARION E. SHUEY STAUNTON, VA Marion Edward Shuey, 88, husband of Leona (Michael) Shuey, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at his residence. He was born on June 11, 1924, in Swoope, a son of the late Meade and Lelia Mae (Manley) Shuey. He was a dedicated farmer and a resource of knowledge for young farmers. Prior to retirement he was employed by Augusta Dairy with 37 years of experience. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife Leona "Billie" of 66 years, surviving family members include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Shuey of Crozet and Gary and Nannette Shuey of Staunton; a sister, Cornelia Eicholtz of Melbourne, Australia; a brother and sister-in-law, Glenn and Anita Shuey of Swoope; a granddaughter, Wendy Shuey of Taos, New Mexico; two grandsons, Dean Shuey of Summerville, South Carolina and Sam Shuey of Crozet; and two great granddaughters, Lea Shuey of Summerville, South Carolina and Zoe Shuey of Staunton. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Worsham; and four brothers, Howard, Russell, Robert, and George Shuey. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. JoAnn Bunn. Active pallbearers will be Todd Wilmore, Darrell Bosserman, Chubby Rexrode, Ben Shuey, Joe Vecchioli, and Richard Bright. Honorary pallbearers will be John Harner, Grover Markham, Charles Schooley, Mike Schooley, Lloyd Derrer, Ron Welcher, Larry Snyder, John Harris, Milton Grady, Donnie Garrison, Dale Truxell, Ronnie Bostic, Tom Small, and Roger Burke. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at the residence on Middlebrook Road. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, 334 Mt. Tabor Road, Staunton, VA 24401. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. John Marsh and his staff for their loving care. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
