MARVIN W. GLOVER, SR. STAUNTON, VA… Marvin Watson Glover, Sr., 86, husband of Helen (Ritchie) Glover, of 1305 Middlebrook Road, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, in Augusta Health, Fishersville. He was born July 21, 1930 in Swoope, a son of the late Bowman William and Mae Alberta (Shuey) Glover. Mr. Glover was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Prior to retirement, he taught school at Craigsville, Churchville, and Middlebrook schools. He was a full-time dairy farmer. He had a great love for music and was a member of the Rockingham Male Chorus for 35 years.Mr. Glover operated “Frontiers Antiques” in downtown Staunton for 20 years and was affectionately known as “The Cattleman”. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife, family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin W., Jr., and Tina Glover of Grottoes; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer Karen Killion and Pamela Mae and Paul Wiebke of Franklinton, North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Cindy Glover of Staunton; a sister and brother-in-law, Ada and Bob Halley of West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Shirley Glover; nine grandchildren, Andrew Killion and Stephanie of San Diego, California, Amanda Glover of Harrisonburg, Daniel Wiebke and Amanda of Raleigh, North Carolina, Rebekah Glover of Grottoes, Jessica Glover of Staunton, Sarah Wiebke and Adam, of Greensboro, North Carolina, Philip Glover of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Samuel Glover of Grottoes, and Hannah Glover of Grottoes; and two great grandchildren, Wyatt Killion and Malcom Killion of San Diego, California. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lavonne Page Glover; and a brother, Marty Glover. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2016, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Wayne Pence and son, Marvin Glover, Jr. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, in the funeral home.
