MARY C. SPITLER FISHERSVILLE –           Mary Wilson (Clatterbaugh) Spitler, 94, widow of Ira Julius Spitler, died at 5:45 am on Monday, June 18, 2018 in Shenandoah Nursing Home.           She was born September 8, 1923 in Mt. Solon, daughter of the late Robert Preston and Mary Clay (Siple) Clatterbaugh.           She was a homemaker.  Mary was a former member of Moscow Church of the Brethren where she was raised, a former member of Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren, and current member of Staunton Church of the Brethren.            Family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Dorothea S. and R. Meade Stewart of Staunton; grandchildren, Dr. Douglas Meade Stewart and wife Dr. Tracy Stewart of Las Vegas, NV and Robert Preston Stewart of Lakeville, Minnesota; and three great grandchildren, Elijah Robert Stewart, Amelia Elisabeth Stewart, and Miles Gabriel Stewart.           In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Jones Clatterbaugh; and four sisters, Virginia Siple VanLear, Dorothy Lee Craun, Charlotte Fitzgerald, and Anna Francis Sheets Polachek.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.           A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Scott Duffey.  Interment will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.           Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Senior Water Aerobics Class of the Staunton/Augusta YMCA.           The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 on Friday evening at the funeral home.           In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Staunton Church of the Brethren, Capital Fund, 1615 North Coalter Street, Staunton, VA 24401 or to Staunton/Augusta YMCA, 708 North Coalter Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
