MARY ELIZABETH CROFT STAUNTON - Mary Elizabeth (White) Croft, 92, widow of Samuel Louis Croft, died at 6:45 a.m. on Saturday (February 11, 2012) in Augusta Health. She was born August 11, 1919 in Campbell County, daughter of Percy Roscoe and Carrie (Stevens) White. She was a member of Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and Echoes. Family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Sammie and Jerry Sams of Staunton; two grandchildren, Douglas and Jen Sams, and Patricia and Barry Campbell; four great grandchildren, Kaleb Sams, Keaton Sams, Riley Campbell, and Bailey Campbell; nephew, Carey B. Arehart; and nieces, Jean Milstead and Margaret Layton. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Croft was preceded in death by two sisters, Bea Arehart and Kathleen Stover. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday (February 14, 2012) in Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert W. Sharp. Interment will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Herman Cook, Ed Guffey, Harold Sellers, Jason Sams, Carey B. Arehart, Bernie Arehart, and Bill Heizer. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening in Henry Funeral Home and other times at her home.
