MARY JANE P. CRUMMETT STAUNTON, VA... Mary Jane (Phillips) Crummett, 92, widow of Ralph Leslie Crummett, of 1410 North Augusta Street, died peacefully Thursday, December 22, 2011, at Augusta Health, Fishersville, surrounded by her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was born September 19, 1919, in Headwaters, a daughter of the late John William and Oda Florence (Rader) Phillips. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Crummett was employed by American Safety Razor with 25 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and also a member of the Golden Goofers. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Lewis H. Crummett; two brothers, Raymond G. Phillips and Wardell Phillips; eight sisters, Lena Kincaid, Eula Pantasis, Twila Hicklin, Nettie Hicklin, Virginia Bishop, Ruth Pullen, Hester Lamb, and Joanna B. Wyant; and a special nephew, Leo Phillips. Family members include a sister-in-law, Mabel Phillips of Staunton; two grandchildren, Mark W. and Angela Crummett and Cheryl and Timothy Hall; seven great grandchildren, Autumn Crawford, Amber Hall, Angel Crummett, Justin Hall, Arin Crummett, Trevor Hall, and Cory Hall. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Dr. Richard S. Dietrich. Burial will follow in Headwaters Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ricky Kincaid, Gary Kincaid, Dean Crummett, Woody Wimer, Danny Phillips, and Ryan Lantz.
