MARY R. DAVIES STAUNTON, VA Mary Elizabeth (Rowe) Davies, 90, widow of James B. Davies, of 2110 First Street, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born November 25, 1922, in Staunton, a daughter of the late Claybourne A. and Sadie (Masincup) Rowe. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Davies was employed by American Safety Razor with 28 years of service. She took an early retirement, to take care of her husband. She was an active member of Second Presbyterian Church for 87 years. She was a volunteer coordinator at the Church for activities at Western State Hospital. She was a devoted caretaker to relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, James O. Davies. Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Edward Lee and Linda Davies of Staunton; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra D. and William Sedr of Staunton; a daughter-in-law, Sheila Davies; seven grandchildren, Brian and James Davies, Diana Dauburt, Rhonda Tracey, Melissa Gee, Brooke Sedr, and Billy Sedr; and ten great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2012, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Harry Johns. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be James Davies, Brian Davies, Billy Sedr, Tony Daubert, Chris Gee, and Robert Davies. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in the funeral home.
