Mary Lasley Thomas

MARY L. THOMAS GREENVILLE, VA Mary Lasley Thomas (Jimmie), 95, of Greenville died on Saturday, October 31. Born in Staunton November 29, 1919, she was the daughter of Frank and Alice Lasley. She attended Stuart Hall and Mary Baldwin College. She married John Hansford Thomas, Jr (Doc), Greenville's long time doctor, who predeceased her. Her sister, Margaret Wright, and her brother, Frank Lasley Jr, also predeceased her. She was a member of both Bethel and The First Presbyterian Church in Staunton and also a member of the DAR and the Tuesday club. She thought her most important legacy to be her family. She is survived by five children, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Her children are Gail Zug of Carmel, CA, Sarah Guerry of Wynnewood, PA, Mary Burleson of Staunton, John Thomas, III, of Lexington KY, and Randall Thomas of Brooklyn, NY. The family deeply appreciates the beautiful care she received in The Blue Ridge Christian Home and wish donations in her memory to go to their foundation at 85 Beulah Drive, Raphine, VA 24472. A family memorial will be scheduled in the Spring. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
