MAVIS R. ROUDABUSH STAUNTON, VA Mavis Fern (Redifer) Roudabush, 93, widow of John Kemper Roudabush, Sr., of 1900 Hillsmere Lane, and formerly of Moffett Branch Road, Churchville, died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Emeritus of Staunton. She was born July 9, 1919, in Staunton, a daughter of the late Marvin and Elsie (Sheets) Redifer. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Roudabush was employed as a school cafeteria manager at North River Elementary School with over 30 years of service. She was a lifetime and very active member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church. She was a member and past chairman of the Women's Circle and past president of the Presbyterian Women. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jamie Blackman. Family members include three sons and two daughters-in-law, John Roudabush, Jr. , Ron and Katy Roudabush, all of Mt. Solon, and Larry and Debbie Roudabush, of Buena Vista; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and George Brinkley, III of Churchville and Judy and Eugene Harman of Mt. Solon; fourteen grandchildren, Brent Harman of Martinsville, Alan and Gerald Harman, Jeff Roudabush, and Benji Huddle, all of Mt. Solon, Jay and Missy Roudabush, both of Powhatan, Pattie Craun of Mt. Crawford, Dwayne Roudabush of Staunton, Amy Blalock of Verona, Kim Helmick of Staunton, Lucinda Crawford of Buena Vista, G. G. Brinkley of Harrisonburg, and Stephanie Meadows of Elkton; 21 great grandchildren; six great, great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Virginia Roudabush of Churchville. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, in Spring Hill Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Charles A. McFarlin. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bob Craun, Will Griffin, Donnie Shiflet, Paul Davis, Byron Morris, Jack Mohler, and Doug Riley. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, in the Henry Funeral Home. The family would like to express appreciation for all the loving care she received from Emeritus and Legacy Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Legacy Hospice, 1842 Jefferson Highway, Fishersville, VA 22939.
