MILDRED H. CASON STAUNTON, VA Mildred (Houff) Cason, 91, widow of William B. "Bernie" Cason, 704 Parkview Ave., died Friday, June 22, 2012, at Bridgewater Home, Bridgewater. She was born March 28, 1921, in Mount Sidney, a daughter of the late William A. "Abe" and Bertie (Link) Houff She graduated from Weyers Cave High School and Dunsmore Business College. Prior to retirement, she was employed by the now Bank of America as a teller. Mildred was a member of the Staunton Church of the Brethren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Francis H. Houff. Family members include a daughter, Judy Cason Cook, Staunton; son and daughter-in-law, William "Bill", and Judy (LaPorte) Cason, Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Kimberley Cook Peters and husband, Joey, Hanahan, SC, Amy Cook, Waynesboro, and Christopher "Chris" Cason and wife, Emilie, Waynesboro; three great grandchildren, Trae Peters, Brittany Cason Peters, Hanahan, SC, and Kate Cason, Waynesboro; a sister, Kathleen Houff Riggleman, Harrisonburg; and brother, William A. Houff, Jr., Bridgewater. A private graveside service will be held at Augusta Memorial Park in Fishersville. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at the Staunton Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Scott L. Duffey, afterwards the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall.
