Mildred Ann Davis

Mildred Ann (Harris) Davis, 91, widow of Isaac "Ike" Bonham Davis, Jr., of 24 Baldwin Drive, died at 4:45 a.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 in her residence. She was born April 15, 1921 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late William Oliver and Lula Ann Harris. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Davis was the coordinator for the Virginia Dairy Council. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, the Sarah Seaton Garden Club, and the Red Hatters. In addition to her husband's death on February 13, 2009, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Bonham Davis. Family includes two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty H. and George H. Hanger of Staunton and Jane Harris Bowles of Harrisonburg; eleven nieces and nephews, Kay Carter (who was her special caregiver), Lynn Hill, Bill Hanger, Jane Hanger, Sarah Stacey, Tom Bowles, Neal Bowles, Leigh Ann Riggleman, Mike Davis, Linda Stinson, and Brenda Jenkins; and a number of great nieces and nephews, as well as several great, great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012 in the Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Steve McMillion. Honorary pallbearers will be her great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Saturday at her home. Henry Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
