Mildred EmaJayne (Campbell) Earhart, 85, wife of William Morrison Earhart, died Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Fishersville. Mrs. Earhart was born on December 10, 1932 in Rockbridge County to the late Lacy Ward Campbell and Myrtle (Moran) Campbell. She was the church secretary at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church for over 30 years.  As a member of Mt. Carmel, she served as a Deacon, Elder and Elder Emeritus.  Mrs. Earhart was also active in the women of the church and was a member of the choir for 40 plus years. In addition to her husband of 67 years (married on October 22,1951), she is survived by three sons, Michael Timothy Earhart, David Houston Earhart and Robert Luther Earhart (Kathy); one daughter, Melanie Jayne Earhart; one sister, Marie Braham; eight grandchildren, Michael Timothy Earhart, Jr., Carrie Michelle Earhart, Crystal E. Moore (Steven), Brandy Nicole Buchannon (Chase), Alisha Marie Earhart, Jacob Tyler Earhart, Blake Houston Earhart and Nicholas Bradley Earhart; eight great-grandchildren, Michael Anthony Earhart, Halie Rae Earhart, Marshall Cole Earhart, Bryce Moore, Kaitlyn Moore, Savanna Owens, Kaydence Buchannon and Kamron Buchannon. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, William Steven Earhart; one daughter,  Julie LeAnn Earhart; one grandson, Daniel Houston Earhart; and her siblings, Leonard, Earl, Lerue, William, Betty, Frances and Maxine.  A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm by the Rev. M. Olivia Haney on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, 6410 Lee Jackson Highway, Steeles Tavern, VA, 24476,  followed by interment in the church cemetery.  Active pallbearers are Michael Earhart, Jr., Steven Moore, Bryce Moore, Blake Earhart, Chase Buchannon, Nicholas Earhart, and David H. Earhart. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the church and one hour prior to the service at the church. The family will receive friends any time at 87 Great Road, Raphine, VA, 24472.  The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Marsh, the staff at Beulah Land and especially to Mary Lois “Maybelle”, and Shenandoah Hospice House. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 8, Steeles Tavern, VA, 24476 or to the Hospice of the Shenandoah, c/o Augusta Health Foundation, P. O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA, 22939.
