Marguerite Elain Evans Floyd, 97, passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at her eldest son’s home in Fishersville, Virginia.

Mrs. Floyd was born February 4, 1925 in Allentown, PA, to the late Esau Harry Evans and Leola Ninetta (Williams) Evans.

She is survived by her sons, Edward T. Floyd, Jr. (Joyce), Gregory L. Floyd, daughter Ninetta M. Terczak; grandchildren, Stephanie N. Floyd Griffith (Bobby), Eric F. Floyd (Ashley) five great grandchildren, Christian, Kerrington, Tyler, Cody and Mason. In addition, she has extended family, two grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Mrs. Floyd is also survived by special friend Becky Orebaugh and special family friends, Marie Elkins and Lillian Lilly.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Edward T. Floyd, Sr., sister Arlyle Remelda (Evans) Andrews Wilkinson and son-in-law Raymond H. Terczak, Sr.

Marguerite worked at a toothpick factory in Buena Vista where she made 1000 a day for restaurants for sandwiches. She also worked at Western State for 20 years as an Aide in Nursing and Leggetts part time in Staunton, VA. After her retirement, she worked for two different women as a caregiver until age 85. Marguerite was a volunteer at Sherando Lake several years. Marguerite loved the art of crafting. She made macrame, floral arrangements, corsages, Christmas ornaments, afghans, crochet, cross stitching, etc. She was a very compassionate person and loved her husband and family and grandchildren. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the P. Buckley Moss Society. She loved traveling and camping. Marguerite was a Charter Member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and served in various capacities. Her Physician asked Marguerite, “What do you attribute your long life to”? She stated, “I never smoked, drank and only had one man in my life”.

She never had a speeding ticket in her life. She loved her pets and enjoyed shopping. She drove until the age of 92. She had wonderful neighbors. She enjoyed her home. Marguerite was married 59 years to Ed.

Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 10, 2022 at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens, officiated by her son.
