Martha C. Coates
Martha Crawford Coates, 84, wife of James Edward Coates, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at her residence.
Martha was born on May 15, 1938 in Greene County to the late Walter Raleigh and Leona (Shifflett) Crawford.
She loved her cat, snowmen, and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Staunton.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by two sons, Shannon Lee Crawford and Mark Anthony Windsor; her daughter, Wilma Sue Windsor-Cude, and her husband, Brian; her step-daughters, Tracy Coates and Jennifer Moore and her husband, Colin; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Darryl Windsor; three brothers; and four sisters.
The family will receive friends one and a half hours prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 AM.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at First Baptist Church at 12:30 PM with Danny Pritchett officiating. Interment will follow at Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Goshen.
Pallbearers will be Dexter Lee Coates, Pete Morris, Buck Windsor, Chad Campbell, Shannon Crawford, Jr., Matthew Moore.
